Hi Sarah,
It is best to follow “serving sizes” in the PS1000 booklet. For example, healthy fats the recommended amount is 1-2 servings a day. It will break down per item how big those servings should be in the book. Keeping track on MyFitness Pal helps too! They don’t match up 100% even but use it as a happy medium.
Optional grains are no more than 1 serving or 30 cals per day, so pretty low. As long as you stick to your servings you should be golden! The calories will take care of themselves when serving sizes are followed.
