Hi Linda, Congratulations on the 8 pound loss! Great progress. I have a question… what do they use at Curves to measure your % of body fat? Calipers? Something electronic that looks like a scale? Some ways are more precise than others, and it could be different depending on who is doing the measuring. Several years ago (and I mean SEVERAL) I was on a weight loss program and had gotten my weight down to my goal of 122. They measured my % body fat with some kind of electronic thing-a-majig and said I had 30% body fat. It totally bummed me out and I lost all my excitement over my weight loss. A few weeks later I had my % body fat measured a different way and it measured at 25% which was much closer to the truth.
It is true that some “skinny” looking people can actually be pretty fat because they have very little muscle mass. If you keep to the program and keep working out, which will increase your muscle mass, you’ll be OK. At least it doesn’t sound like you let the % increase bother you which is good. You have a great attitude and I have no doubt you’ll reach your goals.
