Can we eat Kind bars? They are gluten free and mainly just nuts and fruit?

I am not sure off hand the nutrition information and ingredients. If you give me a specific type of Kind bar I can look into it, however in general steer clear of bars and only use them if you are in a bind and be sure to track the calories and fat just like you would any other meal. A lot of times these bars can be high in sugar, which you are trying to avoid so I say stick to the main permitted foods and only reach for this in an “emergency” situation.

Yes Balsamic is ok, it is only used in small amounts anyways, and is fantastic for adding more flavor to many dishes!

Almonds are 24 (about 1 oz) almond butter is 1-2 tbsp. This will vary on how many fat servings you have already had for the day. For instance if you already had one serving then be sure that either the almonds OR almond butter is your last serving.

Make sense? If not let me know I will clarify things further.

    Have a great day!

What about hummus? Almond butter? I need something to flavor up my veggies at snack time.

Hummus is ok 2 tbsp is the serving.

Almond Butter is ok, I would stick to 2 tbsp or less as the fat content is high and counts as a fat serving. 2 tbsp is the equivalent of the 24 almonds (1 oz serving).

    Great for veggies/fruits.

    Hello,

I am wondering if I can use lentils, sesame seeds (for tahini), and garbanzo beans in phase 1?

    Thank you!!

Are black eyed peas allowed? Or is it only black, kidney & pinto beans in the legumes category? Thanks

Hi Kendal, all legumes are allowed. 1/2 cup is considered one serving.
