I just finished day 1 and I’m pumped!! I have used MyFitnessPal in the past to track food. I decided to use that tool while doing ps1000 to make sure I’m staying on track with calories and water intake.

Unfortunately MyFitnessPal calorie estimates do not match with the book. The differences can be significant. Today on MyFitnessPal I was over calories. However going by the book and online recipe calorie amounts I am even a little under my calories.

Which source do I trust and use?

    Hi Vanessa,

They won’t always match up perfectly due to a variety of factors (size, volume, and weight) of the foods you are eating. Just go happy medium in between MyFitness Pal and the booklet, and you should be golden!

    Hope this helps!

I have found that just keeping track has helped me enormously. Before I started tracking, even though I thought I was keeping my calories where they needed to be, I wasn’t experiencing weight loss. No matter what method you use – track track track! I think the book is great and when I convert my food intake into my fitbit app there are sometimes discrepancies – but like Lauren says – find a happy medium and you will have great success.
