One word: delicious!!!
I used ground turkey and doubled the amount of meat. I also added more garlic and seasoning since I found the recipe a bit bland. This could have been part of the extra meat drowning out flavors.
I have never had shepherds pie so I couldn’t compare it to the ‘real’ stuff. I did miss the butter and I was a little sad to miss my old BFF mashed potatoes. However, I will definitely make this over and over again.
Another tip: I used my big le creuset pan and cooked everything in there. Then spread the mashed cauliflower on top and shoved it in the oven. Less mess to clean up. One pot meals rock!

February 22, 2017 at 12:19 pm #12780I love the Cauliflower Shepherds Pie in fact I made it this weekend. I also use ground turkey but did not change much else and I loved it. Maybe I am use to not a lot of extra stuff in my food as I thought the flavors came together nicely. I hate cauliflower so this was a stretch for me to try but well worth the risk as this is truly my new favorite thing.
February 23, 2017 at 12:14 am #12805I’m proud of you for trying the cauliflower!! Way to go! I think it must be easier to get kids to try foods than adults. I’m not sure anything but starvation would get me to eat a mushroom!!
The shepherds pie was definitely a winner!
April 15, 2017 at 12:48 pm #15075I LOVE cauliflower shepherds pie! I’m originally from England where this dish (made with mash d potatoes)is a staple. I’m not a cauliflower lover but am so glad I tried it because it’s now one of my favorites! Even my grandson loves it and he’s one of the most picky eaters I know (he’s 7). Like Jennifer, I thought the flavors blended really well together. Delicious!!!
