Once the holiday fuss and rush (and extra food preparations) are complete, I’ll begin Phase 1. I’m trying to convince my 2 teenage children to join me in order to simplify meal prep, but my husband will not eat what he calls “foreign foods” and “bark and grass”. We homeschool and have several regular activities outside of the home every week, including medical appointments. This may make conforming to the diet difficult at times. I hope to make simple meal substitutions, like a piece of fruit and some almonds, a regular option on those days. I am also unsure about increasing my water intake to the recommended level based on current weight (215 lbs.), but can drink at least the minimum amount mentioned.I am NOT looking forward to measuring myself and taking pictures. AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0My husband refuses to eat “rabbit food” too but I have begun making healthy substitutions and he has been nothing but complimentary of the dishes he has been eating. I am new to the plan and am looking forward to even more recipes that I can tempt him with. It’s just us two at home so cooking for one is quite a challenge. You will be so grateful to have a before picture to put up next to your after picture and really see the results of your hard work. Best wishes!

December 30, 2016 at 4:34 pm #10710It’s day 5 using their sample Phase 1 menu. My grocery bill was $100 higher than usual last week purchasing these foods. The detox headache and fatigue has decreased considerably. My older daughter, who has health issues, is doing the diet with me. She eats so little normally that she is able to gain weight on this diet, a real blessing for her. I have lost 2 pounds so far. I hope your diet is going well.
The foods on the sample menu must be too sophisticated for a farmer’s wife. I was unable to choke down some of the smoothies; other recipes containing ginger root or turmeric were too spicy. I am looking forward to my own menu using the approved food list, starting Monday.
Just before Christmas, a bracket broke in the back (I currently wear braces). The office (a 1.5 hour drive) was so busy that they were unable to replace it during my appointment on Tuesday. I had missed a snack and a meal, so my younger daughter and I stopped at a bar and grill before seeing a movie. The garden salad with grilled chicken was perfect! I had the balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side so I could limit myself to 1 Tb. After arriving home, a quick evening snack kept me satisfied until morning. It was a good day.
