I see on the suggested foods you can eat 2 eggs or 5 egg whites. If you just eat the egg whites, does this still count as a fat serving for the day? I love to make the protein pancakes, but only make them with the egg whites because I don’t want the extra fat since I cook them with Olive Oil spray so they don’t stick to the pan.
March 22, 2016 at 3:38 pm #2740The egg whites do not count as a fat serving, they have very minimal fat (approximately 0.5 gram for 5 egg whites). So just count them as a protein serving. Great question! I love protein pancakes too 🙂 Have a great day!
March 22, 2016 at 4:02 pm #2748I just responded to another thread too about eggs and protein! I generally suggest eating the yolk, as that is where the essential nutrients are found, along with half of the excellent protein found in eggs. Don’t fear the yolk! It is also a myth that the cholesterol in eggs raise bad blood cholesterol in the body. If you haven’t seen it, check out my recent article on how to choose the best eggs!
