Hey, I’m Dale, almost 57 years old, and I’ve been wanting to lose weight for a while, but have procrastinated until now. I weighed in this morning at 222 (like Room 222 for those who remember that show :-). My first goal is to get down to 179 which will transition me out of the obese BPI to overweight category. To reach a normal BPI, I need to be 149 which could be a longer term goal, like 1-2 years. However, I’d like to get out of the obese BPI category as soon as possible.
I am not a cook, so that is what makes me nervous since I will need to be doing my own cooking. I live in a multi-generation home where my duties are to clean since we already have 3 cooks in the home. I have support from the family, but am going this alone w/r/t PS1000.
I’m also nervous about sticking to this, which why I’m posting and have joined the FB group. I’ve tried weight watchers before, but I burnt out about being obsessed with tracking my points. I think having the phase 1 foods explicitly listed will help me so I can see the boundaries clearly. Also note eating out during this time will greatly help.
I heard good things about the support from the PS1000 coaches and community, so I’m hoping that will also help keep me going when I don’t feel like it.
So now to lose that 43 pounds for good!

AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0Dale- Congrats on making the choice to change your lifestyle to a healthier one. You have made a great start by joining the facebook page because there will be wonderful support there. Prep and plan your meals – you don’t have to be a chef to be able to come up with some quick and easy menu items. Best wishes for your success!
April 17, 2017 at 5:57 pm #15141Thanks Lauren! I’ll be sure to ask when questions arise.
April 17, 2017 at 6:01 pm #15142Thanks Robyn! The choices make it easier for me since it isn’t complicated. I did find a good list of recipes on FB which look pretty easy. My plan is to prep 2-3 days of meals at a time so I can take them on the go.
April 17, 2017 at 11:19 pm #15151Hello Dale: First Congratulations for making this step, I know that you are scare but look at me, this will be my starting second week and I lost already 5 pounds. I personally know what you mean with the cooking, I’m full time employer and also I have to cook almost every day for them the food that is prohibited for me and they don’t need to diet:-( I felt stressed when I read the other reviews with the homemade recipes, just take your time to buy first all the food that you are planning to eat, read the manual-(believe me when I’m telling you that you have to read it and probably more than one time). Also, write in advance the recipes that you are going to eat with the calories, the shakes, salads, etc. This is going to save you time preparing the daily dinner. When the time comes and you received the drops, follow the guide, use the recipes pre-prepared for you; the first week is crazy but in a while you will get familiar with this new routine. Good luck and count with our support(-:
April 18, 2017 at 5:00 pm #15169Thanks Lalalandia! The first day was a rough one, but made it at 948 calories. I’ve been in and out of the book several times and taking notes. Last night, I roped in a few of the cooks to help me spice up some chicken with what we have for the next 3 days. The FB group to be helpful as well and realize that the first days and first week will seem long. It is good to know that it will get easier with time. That is what keeps me going 🙂 Thanks again!
