    Hello,

I started PS1000 in September. I’ve lost 17 pounds so far 🙂 I wanted to know with Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner (the 2 biggest food holidays of the year) How should one cope with eating? I’m a big foodie who loves to cook and bake. I have every kitchen gadget – bread machine, KitchenAid stand mixer, vitamix blender, air fryer, slower cooker, convection oven etc. I live for this time of year to get in the kitchen and bake a storm – and taste along the way. But this year, it looks like I won’t be participating:( Is it okay to cheat a little just that one day?

    Yvonne,

I completely know what you mean! I love baking also around this time of year. What I have been trying to do is let Thanksgiving be a “free” day in which I don’t go crazy, but I don’t track what I eat at all. I enjoy my favorites only which is usually anything with sweet potatoes as well as pie! I usually try to start my day with a little exercise so I am able to hold off awhile on the yummy foods. I want you to enjoy the holidays and not feel deprived. However I would stick to just Thanksgiving Day and Christmas and don’t make it into a food event that ends up lasting for days and days.

I don’t consider this cheating, I consider it living. Just get right back to your plan the day after, you should be just fine! Also do try and find alternative ways to make things that you don’t mind eating “healthier.” Indulge in the things that you really look forward to, make sure it is worth it.

    Hi Jess,

Thanks so much for the advice. I’m going to enjoy a few of my favorites just on Thanksgiving day.

    Yvonne,

No problem at all I totally understand that the holiday’s are going to be a difficult time to navigate as far as sticking to a plan, however I think real life means enjoying your holiday’s thoroughly with your family. However as I noted above it is ok for the actual date, but try to keep it to just that day and not bleeding over into the rest of your week, and month(s) LOL!

Let me know if you have any other questions, there are questions too small.
