I like to eat hummus with veggies as a snack, 50 calories
    typically 2 tablespoons

Do we count this as healthy fat and protein?
If protein how much of a serving?

Also what about coconut water, allowed in smoothies?
    Thanks

I think the hummus is OK to use only if it has very limited ingredients. It does not however count as a full serving of protein, at best it is 1/2 serving of protein. It wound count as 1/4 of a fat serving.

As far as coconut water goes I think many of the major brands actually have added sugar to them. I would have to know the exact brand, but otherwise I would not use it. You could use unsweetened almond or coconut milk though 🙂

Thanks Jessica, really appreciate your response! I can see where hummus needs to be watched carefully, 2T max with veggies, or it can add up fast in calories etc,

Coconut water is Costco brand, 1 cup 45 calories, less than 1% organic cane sugar
10 g came sigar. Vs 7 in almond milk, close, leading lots about how these foods break down!

    Thanks!
