Is commercially prepared hummus allowed in Phase 1? I’ve heard some say that it’s not, yet I’ve seen it listed in the snacks on the free plan menu. Thanks
It is ok. Stick to the kind with minimal ingredients such as Sabra plain hummus. A serving size is 2 tbsp and make sure to account for the 1/2 fat serving.
Jessica,
I don’t like all the preservatives that are in processed foods, do you have a good Humus recipe?
Todd
Hi Todd,
1-3 garlic cloves
1⁄4 cup plain low-fat greek yogurt
1 tablespoon lemon juice.
1 teaspoon olive oil.
1⁄4 teaspoon salt.
1⁄4 teaspoon paprika.
1⁄8 teaspoon pepper.
1 (19 ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
Try that one out!
