So ladies, I have a question. Have you ever been out in public and had someone ask you when you are due? And you are NOT pregnant?? Unfortunately this has happened to me a lot. It happened today. Every damn time I feel like I die a little inside. It’s cruel and insulting and demoralizing. My husband tries to cheer me up but this is a zinger for me. His response today was “you are doing something about it so don’t feel bad.” His pep talk didn’t help. Not sure what I’m looking for on that one. Maybe if someone else has experienced this they will have words of wisdom. Oh and it is almost always women who step their foot in it and ask me. I’ve learned not to mention the word pregnancy to a woman unless she is holding a baby in her arms!! It sucks.

People are SO ignorant. I am sorry that has happened… those people are just RUDE and they are selfish. You are doing something about it, so BE PROUD! Not everyone has the courage to start a diet program, so you have a lot to be thankful for. Those comments are hard, but use them as fuel to progress forward. YOU GOT THIS!

SOME FUNNY COMEBACKS TO MESS WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE RUDE AND OUT OF PLACE:

Yes, I’m due next week. Don’t I look great?

Well I don’t know. Do you happen to have a vaginal probe to do an ultrasound?

I knew we had something in common!

Yes, I’m pregnant with a dozen babies actually! It’s a new world record.

The only thing you can do is try to make light, and keep on rocking this plan!

Thanks Lauren! I have often thought about coming up with some comeback to screw with people.
I’m in the camp of not commenting on people’s weight up or down. Instead asking how people are feeling. If someone discusses a diet or a weight loss goal I wait until THEY bring it up.

My dear Vanessa I do not think people mean to be insensitive I think they are just looking for something to say. Do not give people the power to make you feel bad about yourself because I am sure they are not perfect. Just focus on you and your goals and even if you are not where you want to be you are at least doing something to get there which is a lot more then most people are doing. You seem to have a champion in this fight which is your husband so use that positive energy and move forward even if it is slow, move forward. We have all been called out for something that hurts us and makes us feel bad. It is not the hurt that defines us it is how we respond and grow. YOU GOT THIS!!!! I PROMISE!!!

Thanks Jennifer. I just have to keep looking forward and not be afraid of leaving my house. I think the weight will come off eventually. I just need to stick with it. Since I LOVE cooking so having the opportunity to try all of these new recipes is actually fun and something I look forward to. I thought I’d miss the fast food and restaurants and I do a little. But I have also felt excited just eating new food.
