AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0I am new too and I have found so much help and advice in the forums and the facebook page. While waiting for my delivery I printed off the menu plan like you did and I went shopping. I cleaned out my cupboards of the junk food that I gravitate to when I am tired or discouraged and spent an afternoon slicing vegetables and having them bagged for a quick grab from my fridge. I think the key to success will be staying motivated and the support that is out there will help me do that. Looking forward to hearing about your success! Best wishes!

I think that is a great idea to go ahead and shop and prepare veggies. I read some articles and went ahead and bought a spiralizer to make veggies that look like pasta. I’m so ready to get going. I still need to get Christmas guests gone so that I can truly get going. I plan to start New Year’s Day. I am not sure if my package will get here but I will need to read the books to have a better idea. I have done the South Beach diet with great successes. What exercise do you plan to do? I will be in my last semester of school and exercise will need to be what I can do at home before/after…. I hate that school makes me so sedentary. I think that planning the snacks in advance and having them prepared to take in mu lunchbox will help tremendously. Do you work outside the home?

December 29, 2016 at 12:59 am #10648I’m just starting too. I have cleaned out all the junk and went shopping for all the good stuff. I’m looking forward to all the healthy fresh stuff. I am sick of eating junk. I love all the good stuff but its so easy to grab the bad. Hopefully no more.
December 30, 2016 at 4:14 pm #10706Good for you! We all want to improve ourselves this year. This is my 5th day, and I’m down 2 pounds. The detox fatigue and headache is nearly gone now. Even when away from home, this diet is fairly easy to maintain. There are meals salads and snacks that are transportable. I’ve also found the salad bar at the larger grocery chains helpful when I’m out of town.
I am currently using the sample Phase 1 menu. Maybe the flavors are too sophisticated for a farmer’s wife to appreciate. I was unable to choke down some of the smoothies. Also, some of the other recipes containing fresh ginger or turmeric were too spicy. The foods I had to purchase on the shopping list added almost $100 to my weekly expenses, so I am looking forward to using the approved foods in more familiar ways starting next Monday.
I don’t know how to send friend requests, but would like to send one to you since we are starting at about the same time. Paula
