Hello and happy Wednesday to all.
So I just joined yesterday, and I’m still looking and feeling my way around. I’m cautiously optimistic from reading all the positive comments people have left about not just short term, but truly long term changes to healthier eating habits. The most striking comments to me were many people saying they no longer craved junk. I love bread, dairy, and desserts and find it hard to believe that I will reach a point of not actually craving these things to the degree I do now. All things can be fine in moderation, but moderation goes out the window when there is a block of good cheese and loaf of french bread in front of me. Although I had short term success with Slim Fast a few years ago, I cannot and don’t want to rely on shakes for the rest of my life. Additionally, the program didn’t really help me learn how to eat more healthfully. My weight has slowly gone up and up, and I’m finally acknowledging that permanent change is needed.
Friday is going to be my true starting day. I’m out of town on a business trip, and I plan to go grocery shopping tomorrow afternoon after returning home. Bulk meal prep in advance is crucial for me, as my working hours can be quite variable (I’m a veterinarian and staying late happens rather often). I know myself too well that if I leave the prep and planning until after working a 12 hour shift- it simply won’t happen, and I’ll break out the cheese and crackers. 🙂
Here’s hoping for a healthier yet enjoyable journey.
Cheers,

May 24, 2017 at 9:37 pm #16682Hi Leslee and welcome!
I hear you and can seriously relate. my weakness is fried chicken wings which I crave all the time! Occasionally, I crave sweets. The metabolic burst drops that come with the program helped a whole lot with my cravings so be sure to take them as recommended.
As for this program, it really is a lifestyle change and it works! I’ve not only lost weight and inches but I’ve learned new ways to eat healthy while keeping the food tasty. On occasion, I still crave chicken wings and I have them. I just fry them in the air fryer. And I don’t sweat it either…I just get back on track.
My best advice for you is to take things slow…you’ll get the hang of it and before you know it, you’ll be making healthier choices without even thinking about it!
Don’t forget to try the recipes on the ps1000.com website, they’re really good!
I hope this is helpful!

AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0Hi Nace – I agree with Samantha that the drops definitely help with the cravings. I don’t know that my cravings went away (I still desire the comfort that several “off program” foods have given me in the past) – but as I continually make the healthier choices, my ability to skip the comfort food increases. There are even some of my old standy’s that aren’t as tempting anymore. The recipes on this site and the fun ones on the facebook page are terrific and they make it easier to bypass the junk food and fuel myself with something much better. Wishing you great success!
