Hi all,
This may seem like an unusual and unexpected quest for assistance but I am having a hard time getting 1000 calories in and also getting three meals in. If I went by hunger alone I would be eating even less. As of now I am trying to set a timer to eat by.
Eating healthy has really reduced calories. Fish and shrimp and chicken are high protein for few calories. And for those fish meals I can’t get enough calories that day.
I can get 800-850 easily. When I am really low I eat 24 almonds and that packs a good punch (~160 cal). I will also eat hard boiled eggs or cottage cheese.
Does anyone have a go to food that packs nutritional calories? It has to be phase 1 approved.
Thanks!March 1, 2017 at 6:51 pm #13196Hi Vanessa,
Just piping in here! Healthy fats pack on a little more calories if you are having trouble reaching your goals (avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, chia seeds) but be careful because they can add up! They are wonderful for your brain health!
Best,
LaurenMarch 2, 2017 at 1:34 am #13216Thanks Lauren. I love avocados so maybe I can make the deviled eggs with avocados and eat one of those eggs for some calories. I did notice in the book that there is a calorie range of 800-1000. Is that true?
March 2, 2017 at 1:57 pm #13254You can also try the vital protein( blue canister) and because it is unflavored you can mix it in any liquid to get not only calories but protein.
March 2, 2017 at 5:44 pm #13276Jennifer, do you find that powder chalky or gritty? That is how I find other protein powders.
March 2, 2017 at 9:07 pm #13288Yes the caloric limit is 800-1000
If you are working out though you can supplement even more calories though- anywhere from 250-400. Its in the book : )
March 30, 2017 at 6:52 pm #14421I make a shake for breakfast and decided to save some for the afternoon since it is so filling. However, today I decided to have it as ‘dessert’ after my big lunch salad. That was a mistake! I got way too full, and should have waited longer before having it. But I think having a small amount of a shake at the right time, if you have a way to store it, might pack the punch you’re looking for.
