Isn’t it funny that we think that by starting a diet that we will magically loose weight? It takes a PLAN, with goals, and organization to get the desired effects from anything in life. You cannot build a house without a set of blueprints. You need to set your “destination” (Goals) and plan your mile markers (mini goals) to help you achieve where you want to be. I tell agents when teaching to set up small goals you can achieve everyday, and that will help your attitude, esteem and accomplish what you want faster than to set yourself up for a “Journey” so far out you are sabotaging yourself to fail. Write down your goal, then break it up into 10 smaller goals like 100 lbs seems astronomical to most people, but if you say I can loose 10 lbs, that is easier to do. Then go for the next 10 lbs, and so on. Break it up even further, and set 4 goals into that 10, and 2.5 lbs seems real easy to do. So keep your “Destination” in mind, but just make it to the first mile marker first, and then go onto the next one, and so on. Here’s to being on this Amazing Journey with all of you 😉 !!

Sue, this is wonderful advice! I see too many people, myself included, who have struggled with this in the past. Planning is KEY to success! In fact I wrote an entire article on here about meal planning and meal prep, because I know personally that the weeks I take extra time to do this, are my most successful weeks. Thanks for the reminder! You could not be more right 🙂

Great post by Sue – I know it seems a bit time consuming with the preparation when you are first starting the plan but once you get into the swing of it things go smoothly. I have basically been “living” at the hospital since my mom had hip replacement with complications on Friday. In my life before PS100O – this would be the ripe time for me to go off the deep end with food intake. Instead I’m grabbing a yogurt, apple food bar etc go get me through. I sincerely think it helps with all of the support people in the PS Community

Love this advice! I do find I do better when I take a day to cook and proportion out snack bags, so the next 5-7 days I can eat without too much thought, time or effort to make it happen. Mason Jar salads have been a blessing, and when the weather got chilly and I didn’t feel like salads I could fill them with soup for a quick heat-up.

Thank you for this advice! My daughter and I are both starting the plan…we went to gather our groceries and immediately started dividing our food up into bags! Definitely going to make packing our lunches for work much easier! 😀 Have a great day everyone!!

Yes I agree, if you do it as soon as you come home from the store it is so much easier to start the week with everything already portioned out and ready to go! It’s great that you have your daughter to do this plan with! A built in accountability partner is wonderful!
