Am I able to use fresh sprinkles of Parmesan cheese in Phase 1. I’m talking abount 1 tbsp or so in some of my recipes? Would this do much damage?
April 20, 2016 at 8:58 pm #3897To be the bearer of bad news is never fun, but I would steer clear of adding anything that is not on the food list. Doing so just kind of allows you to go deeper into just a little of this and that. It’s best to stick very closely to the list and not have any leeway. Try some fresh herbs instead on top of your food, or for some greek yogurt. I just added a dollop of greek yogurt onto my chili for lunch and it was the perfect healthy addition. There are certainly ways around this, but in short I would just stick to approved foods to get optimal results.
April 20, 2016 at 11:04 pm #3906Thanks Jessica, I have just been dying for pizza and recently found a recipe for making a crust with almond flour. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll just have to top with everything else but the cheese.
April 21, 2016 at 3:50 am #3927Yeah I know I miss certain foods occasionally…but you could try to top it with a dollop here and there of cottage cheese. I know that probably sounds weird but it could be good…I will have to do some experimentation to try and find something that tastes similar to real pizza. Eventually you may stop craving pizza altogether though. I know I can’t even stomach the idea of eating and digesting pizza anymore. My family sometimes eats it and it hurts just thinking about it. Which sounds worse than it is, I promise 🙂 Anyways you will come to love the new ways you are making foods and just focus on that for now. Also if you end up finding something that helps mimic the taste share it please!
May 19, 2016 at 12:50 am #4906It’s not directly related to Parmesan, but what do you think of 2% low fat cottage cheese for snacks? A brand has probiotics in it, so it may aid any digestive issues perhaps? 🙂
May 20, 2016 at 4:14 pm #4943Cottage cheese is the only cheese allowed on the plan…so yes! Go ahead and enjoy a serving 🙂 Probiotics are wonderful in aiding the digestive system!
May 25, 2016 at 2:04 am #5235How wonderful! I really enjoy it and my digestive system is feeling comfortable so far. 🙂 Thank you!
May 25, 2016 at 9:43 pm #5254Glad to hear that! I know many struggle when switching up the diet so dramatically 🙂 I am glad that you enjoy cottage cheese! It is so so good and full of protein and probiotics 🙂
