Is peanut butter allowed in phase 1?
February 23, 2017 at 5:26 pm #12834No sorry!
February 23, 2017 at 5:28 pm #12835Is there a reason why almond butter is allowed but peanut butter isn’t?
February 23, 2017 at 9:06 pm #12841Hi Vanessa,
Peanuts are not on phase 1 due to their fat breakdown, and most peanut butters harbor extra fats and sugars which is why it isn’t allowed in phase 1! Hope this helps!

February 23, 2017 at 9:08 pm #12842Thanks Lauren! That helps. Although I did buy powdered PB that has less fat but lots of flavor. I was hoping to use it in smoothies.
February 23, 2017 at 9:10 pm #12843I see! Yeah it isn’ recommended in Phase 1 sadly… I love peanut butter so its tough to wait until phase 2!

AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0I bought the Peanut butter flavored Quest. I hope it is acceptable. I didn’t think about the peanut butter aspect but the calories, carbs and other criteria were met according to specifications in the book so I thought it would be ok. Was I wrong?
March 28, 2017 at 11:37 pm #14354Same here, I just ordered some of the Quest PB flavor protein powder. I figured it’s fine because it’s actually protein powder rather than powdered peanut butter. But maybe not?
March 29, 2017 at 3:14 pm #14366Peanut butter flavored Quest should be fine, just make sure it falls within the protein powder guidelines in the book.

AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0Love getting my PB fix through the quest powder. Their other flavors are great too for when a sweet craving hits. I’ve even mixed half a scoop of the PB with a half scoop of the chocolate for a “reeses” treat.
