Cassie,
Sadly no on the butternut squash, the natural sugars and starches make it a no go. The good news is that as well as sweet potatoes can be added back in, in Phase 2! Is there something specific you are trying to make? I can try and help you find a substitute.
I absolutely love love love flank steaks! and Ratatouille is a great dish! So great when the family likes to foods too 🙂 keep up the great work!
May 2, 2016 at 7:49 pm #4364Thanks,
I was reading the forum dialogue on butternut squash and had one handy!
So glad I asked! Good to know I need to wait for phase two!
Something to look forward to next!So far the recipes I’ve tried are coming out great! Easy to make and clean up too!
Husband really liked hearty chili!May 3, 2016 at 1:14 am #4383I made the Kale Apple Salad tonight, I wasn’t a fan of the carrot, the rest was good.
I would substitute mushroom and/or red pepper for the carrot and sauté veggies and kale in either olive oil or coconut oil, no need to massage the kale,
takes more time and adds more fat to your day’s calories.July 9, 2016 at 3:54 am #6809Best ever is the Shepherds Pie with cauliflower potatoes. Hubby did not know it …
July 21, 2016 at 3:47 am #7477I spiralize every thing I can. Love that machine.
August 3, 2016 at 4:10 am #8100Hi, I tried this recipe two days ago after I started this diet and I loved it.
Vegetable broth
Crushed garlic
2 tablespoons coconut milk
Tilapia fish
Salt
Lemon
Some hot sauce like Texas PetePut all the ingredients together and let it simmer for 10-15 mins.
It was like fish curry. Righty before eating, I added romaine lettuce to get some crunch with the curry and fish and didn’t miss the rice.August 8, 2016 at 4:03 pm #8381Hi Jessica, I saw that you said no to butternut squash. How about acorn squash please?
August 9, 2016 at 1:54 am #8405I’m going to try this out it sounds delicious.
August 12, 2016 at 1:33 pm #8484Acorn squash is out too as it is a starchier squash. Stick to zucchini and summer squash as well as spaghetti squash!
August 22, 2016 at 12:45 pm #8762I have been meaning to buy a spiralizer for a while. Any recommendations for good reasonably priced ones?

September 7, 2016 at 9:59 pm #9093Several folks have asked about squash. I love to spiralize zucchini and summer squash and roast in the oven with some olive oil, dash of sea salt and cumin. But then I seem to be addicted to roasted veggies :).

September 12, 2016 at 1:29 pm #9175Sounds Fantastic! If you replace the soy sauce with liquid aminos, you will save quite a bit of sodium too! Some people are sensitive to the effects of higher sodium, I am personally. If you are unable to find it in stores however don’t stress about it, 1 tsp of soy sauce isn’t going to break your diet.
This recipe sounds amazing! You should post a pic sometime on the Facebook page!
