After having a 11.7 pound drop in week one I am now having a total slow down in weight loss. I am losing 0.0-0.4 pounds a day now. I know that that is normal but will my weight loss pick back up. At what point should I consider it a plateau and use the VLCD protocol.
January 19, 2017 at 6:47 am #11480If you are exercising you may not see as much of a daily adjustment in weight because you are building muscle mass. Also your body is adjusting to the new diet plan and the decrease in sugar and processed foods I wouldn’t get too worried yet. I wouldn’t consider it a plateou until you are losing 0 weight and inches for a week. Also you might want to consider just weighing yourself once a week, that way you don’t get so stressed out if you don’t see a change everyday. Weekly measurements will help you determine if you are still losing weight and building muscle mass. Your weight may not drastically change but your inches will.
January 19, 2017 at 2:48 pm #11484Thank you and I know that as long as I am losing its a good thing, Patients has never been my strong point. I am losing between 0.2 and 0.4 pounds a day for a whooping total of 15.6 pounds lost since Jan 1 so not bad. My goal is to lose another 37.2 pounds. I feel great and I am learning a lot about food and what I like, so this lifestyle is what I am embracing and that is my focus now….but the number still pushes me to do better.
January 19, 2017 at 9:46 pm #11502My week two is slow as well. Showed a gain of half a pound, now down .4 but not where the week started! But am continuing on. Going to do this thing. Meanwhile, my husband bought himself a pie and will proceed to eat the WHOLE thing!
January 22, 2017 at 12:36 pm #11582Mine was a week 3 slowdown. Gained a couple, then ended the week back where I started. Hoping this week will prove to be a loser!
January 22, 2017 at 4:35 pm #11585As I start week 4 I am down 17 pounds so my weight loss did slow down but did not stop. Try to think long term goals instead of daily ones and that my help to keep you motivate. A loss is a loss even if it is only 0.2 pounds. I will being pulling for a good week 3 for you. Hang in there we got this.
January 23, 2017 at 3:15 pm #11617I began exercising and actually gained 2 pounds during week 2. Week 3 I lost 1 pound. Week 4 I began losing weight again. Slow progress is better than no progress at all. At my age, if I lost weight too quickly, I’d probably look like a one of those wrinkly puppies with loose skin!
