I am in Phase 1 and just finished week 2. I lost 4 pounds the first week and was happy. I have stuck with the program, but the second week I gained a pound. I only need to lose 20 pounds but it is so hard and I am very short. It seems that everything I try works against me. I don’t know what I did wrong this week but I feel so down about it. I never go to 1000 calories–usually around 900. Following the book and using recipes posted. I drink 1 cup of coffee then nothing else but water ever. I haven’t had time for exercise as my mom is in the nursing home and I go see her everyday. I don’t know if the stress or my age is working against me. Any suggestions?

Keep at it. 1 pound is nothing to fret over and is completely normal. If you continue to take the supplement and eat healthy you will see results!

Thanks Lauren and Trish! I am still plugging away. I know I need exercise, but I truly believe stress is the evil stopping block when it comes to weight loss. I try to get it under control and then it rears its ugly head again. Everyone have a great week. I plan to try my best!

I’m in my 3rd week and I found the majority of my weight loss were in the first week. I stalled by the end of week 2 and beginning of week 3 I had gained a pound. I think my body was retaining water because I in the middle of week 3 I dropped it all and some. It got under control because I was doing everything right. I workout and I find too that the days I workout hard, the next day I have either gained a pound or no loss.

Thanks Pros Kaws. I am glad you are losing. I weighed this morning and I still have not lost the pound I gained and I have been so diligent except for exercise. I do think I am retaining water so I started putting lemon juice in my water today to help me pee. I am also having constipation issues which I feel is due to not getting my Granola every morning. Apples don’t help me with that problem so I am somewhat at a loss in that area. I am open for suggestions there too. I am just one of those people who has an opposite reaction to things. Always have. Lol. Have a great rest of the week!

Well fiber helps a lot, I get a lot of it from beans. It says somewhere in the book to have at least one of your meal vegetarian. My dinner is beans. The way I cook them makes it way much easier to eat. I saute onions with a little bit of olive oil (one of my fat for the day) then add red peppers, spinach or kale depending on what I have and lastly I add either kidney or pinto beans. I flavor that with spices and that is all I eat. I eat a cup of that and sometimes if I need to change it up, I eat two eggs with half a cup of beans mixture. So that is where I get my fiber and the next day I am golden LOL! Hopefully that helps.

Don’t discount the effects of the high levels of cortisol from all that stress! I’ve been there with the stress, and I’m sure it contributed to some of my weight gain. (I’m no expert, and have no proof of that, of course.) Maybe attack it from that angle. There is all kinds of information out there on stress-relief, in fact I think I saw some articles on this website. Like you have all this extra time to read, I know. lol Don’t lose hope! And bless you for caring for your mom and checking up on her and all that goes with it! A hard stage of life, indeed. To keep perspective with the plan, maybe focus on your energy levels, and less on the pounds, whenever you need to give yourself a break. Good luck and take care!

I was so excited when I weighed in this morning. I am down a total of 6 pounds from start date. This third week really helped me lose that 1 pound I had gained plus 2 more. The only things I did differently was to put a quarter of lemon in my water every day and added 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to breakfast no matter what I had. They have no taste but great source of fiber. My bathroom trips have about doubled but since I was not exercising I used those visits to do 10 squats, 10 lunges (10 each side), and 10 wall push ups. I did these on every bathroom visit so they add up in the course of the day. I hope this trend keeps up!

Shirley, what an awesome way to get moving. The exercise I mean? I try to do the same in the evening when I’m watching the news. Every time there is a break I try to move, either with squats or stretches. Never thought of bathroom breaks though. Thanks.

Thanks Trina. I like your idea as well. I have a tendency to just sit and watch TV at night, but I could add exercises in during commercials and as many as some shows have, I could probably get quite the workout. Have a great weekend.
