AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0I have an electronic scale that measures my body fat percentage. As my weight has gone down on this plan (yay!) my body fat % has gone up. I keep a weight loss journal and I have been very good at sticking to the program without any variances from phase 1. Does a low calorie plan like PS1000 mean I am burning muscle instead of fat? How can I reverse this?
February 2, 2017 at 7:06 pm #11911It is now a month later; how are things now?
I will find out my % body fat on Saturday at Curves. Hope it is down!

AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0I am starting over because I went out of state for a week and half for a family funeral and gained quite a bit back. I didn’t backslide to the beginning but it is a little discouraging that it is soooo much easier to gain than to lose. I exercised everyday and tried to watch my portions but my meals were not from the approved food list. My scale still has me at a higher body fat percentage than my doctor but I have decided to ignore the reading and just use the weight function. Back to square one and hoping my metabolism can be jump started again with the same great results I got at the beginning of the year. Good luck with your weigh in!
February 9, 2017 at 6:50 pm #12209As I mentioned in another post, when I weighed in at Curves, my body fat % was up which was a surprise. I was told to increase proteins and good fats so that the loss will not be coming from muscle.
And, by the way, did you see that cartoon of an avocado looking in the mirror? Yes, there was the chubby avocado saying, “But it is GOOD fat!”

AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0That’s good to know. I think my muscle mass has been decreasing even though I have been doing strength training. Not enough protein could very well be the culprit. I would like to find someplace like Curves to measure my bf% without having to go to the doctor so I can accurately gauge what is happening. BTW – that was a funny cartoon. Cheers!
March 6, 2017 at 3:43 pm #13419I gained 5 pounds my first week, is this normal?
March 6, 2017 at 5:55 pm #13427Hi Tori,
Try drinking a lot of water to flush those toxins out… are you following the approved foods list? If so, just keep chipping away! The body can take some time to adjust..
May 1, 2017 at 4:57 pm #15892First week complete. Loss 5 lbs and 7 total inches. I’d consider this a win. YAY!!!

AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0Congratulations Carol! Your hard work has paid off. Keep it up!
May 23, 2017 at 5:38 am #16602Hi Robyn, I had the same thing on my body fat percentage on my scale at first weigh in. We shall see on the next one. Also on figuring my BMI. My scale is much lower than the calculator from my fitness pal. Oh well, carry on I shall.

AnonymousInactive@Karma Coins: 0Since going back to phase one, I have dropped additional weight but my fat percentage continues to climb (according to my scale). I don’t check in with my physician until next month but I have resigned myself to ignoring the BF % readout on the scale. I have made sure to keep my protein at the max and continue to do strength training. I feel good and my clothes are fitting better so that is what I will use to gauge my progress.
