Thank you Jessica! This is very helpful information! Thanks so Much!
I followed your phase 2 recipes, that was helpful to learn where to add in calories!
Goal is to stick with the basics learned from phase 1 & 2
And as you suggested add grains In gradually, see how body responds and
watching calories will be the key to the balance!Cassie Giddings started the topic Phase 3 adding in grains and fats in the forum Ask Nutritionist 8 years, 4 months ago

I am wrapping up phase 2, the suggestion to add foods gradually went well. It felt like I was eating a lot of calories to make the 1500 mark.
Tracking the calories and watching how different foods added to the count helped in understanding how to better balance calories in a day. Thanks to Jessica’s phase 2 recipe suggestions, I was found ways…[Read more]

Thanks, Jessica, the article was very helpful, I think keeping with phase one and watching fat and sugar while eating out will be key!
creative decision making is the goal on this food and lifestyle change, now the test will be to scout out the right food and as you say, not to stree but enjoy eating healthy! Thanks again!Cassie Giddings started the topic Phase vs phase two? in the forum Ask Nutritionist 8 years, 6 months ago
Hi, I’m at day 31 and have lost 10 1bs, and have a goal for 10 more, I leave for vacation in one week and was planning on going on phase two, however I wonder if I should stick to phase one until I meet my goal and then go to phase two? Weight loss is going very slow but steady!

@cassie Cassie you are off to a wonderful start. Keep it up. When you are challenged, and you will be, remember that feeling of this first week. You will be at your goal before you know it. Stay strong you can do this.
Cassie Giddings replied to the topic Hummus snack. in the forum Ask Nutritionist 8 years, 7 months ago
Thanks Jessica, really appreciate your response! I can see where hummus needs to be watched carefully, 2T max with veggies, or it can add up fast in calories etc,
Coconut water is Costco brand, 1 cup 45 calories, less than 1% organic cane sugar
10 g came sigar. Vs 7 in almond milk, close, leading lots about how these foods break down! Thanks!

I made the Kale Apple Salad tonight, I wasn’t a fan of the carrot, the rest was good.
I would substitute mushroom and/or red pepper for the carrot and sauté veggies and kale in either olive oil or coconut oil, no need to massage the kale,
takes more time and adds more fat to your day’s calories.Cassie Giddings replied to the topic Recipe talk, what are some of your favorite diet approved recipes? in the forum PS1000 Approved Foods 8 years, 7 months ago
Thanks,
I was reading the forum dialogue on butternut squash and had one handy!

Something to look forward to next!So far the recipes I’ve tried are coming out great! Easy to make and clean up too!

I like to eat hummus with veggies as a snack, 50 calories
typically 2 tablespoonsDo we count this as healthy fat and protein?
If protein how much of a serving? Also what about coconut water, allowed in smoothies?

My Goal: lose 20 1bs, so here goes!
My biggest challenge is working the ratios for healthy fats,
but it’s starting to make sense!
I’m enjoying all the recipes and so is my husband! Ha
