There are two of us wearing braces, so nuts and jerky are not options. Dried fruit (hard to find with no added sugar) disappears like candy around here. So does the Melba toast and hard-boiled eggs. We always have apples, but they are not raided because they must be peeled and sliced first. Oranges, strawberries, and blueberries
go fast, too.…[Read more] -

I was hungry all the time with 30 minute workouts. Increasing the drops and eating a little more took care of it.

I started out at 220 pounds on a 5 foot 4 inch body. I’ll be 56 in April. I followed the provided menu the first week without cheating and lost 4 pounds. When I began exercising in week 3, I gained 3. After increasing my calories a little, I began losing weight again, a total of 9 pounds by week 5. I then gained and lost the same pound until week…[Read more]

You made some great choices. Good job! It is tough when you are out at a restaurant, but there are at least some good choices on the menu.
I also got hungry, especially when I started exercising in week 3. I even began gaining weight instead of losing. It turned out that I actually needed to eat more to continue losing weight. Although I still do…[Read more] -

I also got hungry, especially when I started exercising in week 3. I even began gaining weight instead of losing. It turned out that I actually needed to eat more to continue losing weight. Although I still do get hungry at times, making sure there is a protein every time that I eat helps a lot. Cheese and wine are also big temptations for me.…[Read more]

Stevia and coconut milk work for me. We don’t have coconut creamer or flavored stevia in our local stores. If I add a little vanilla to almond milk and stevia, it also makes an acceptable creamer substitute.

Paula Gunning replied to the topic PIYO in the forum Phase 1 7 years, 6 months ago
It’s good to know there are modified moves. The ads on TV make it look brutal, so I discounted PIYO as an option. (I have a damaged knee and foot/ankle). Can anyone tell me if doing PIYO is possible with these limitations?
Walmart’s website listed exercise programs (DVDs) designed for seniors, plus size exercise, PIYO, and many others. You may…[Read more] -

I’m rural, so I know that our area farm stores also sell syringes with caps in a wide variety of sizes.

I’ve recently encountered a new problem. It’s bad enough that my husband still drags home chips, pop, donuts, ice cream, cookies, pies, etc. and eats these things with my kids in front of me. Now my children have started raiding my larder of healthy foods; it’s much harder to keep a supply of my PS1000 approved foods in the house. I usually shop…[Read more]

I’ve just started using a fitness DVD for the overweight, and I really like it. It is led by four modestly dressed, plus-sized women.
I bought it at Walmart.com: +Plus Size Cardio and Weight Training Home Fitness Collection by Louise Green (Body Exchange, Canada)
There is a 5 minute warm-up, 18 minutes (beginner) or 33 minutes (intermediate) of…[Read more] -

Exercising is difficult for me because 1. I have a damaged left knee, damaged right foot/ankle, and arthritic neck and upper back, 2. I’m over 200 pounds and only 5 feet 4 inches tall, and 3. I’m over 55. Some of the Wii U fitness exercises are OK, but many are too hard on my joints. Even though I chose carefully, my knees ached.
I found the…[Read more] -
Paula Gunning replied to the topic Doctor opinions in the forum Weight Loss with Health Conditions 7 years, 6 months ago
My doctor also expressed concern due to the severity of the calorie intake. He suggested listening to my body-if I’m hungry, eat more of the right stuff. When I started exercising, I stopped losing weight, probably because I was not eating enough. I’v recently added more food and a bit more drops. Hopefully I’ll begin losing again.

Thanks, Angel. I’ve been eating a piece of fruit 30 minutes before exercise and having protein (the rest of my breakfast) just after. I’ve also increased the amount of calories and drops that I consume on exercise days, and I feel much better.

Welcome, Vanessa. Love the cat picture-we’re big cat fans at our house. I’ve notices that I’m a lot moodier just before it’s time to eat again. I had headaches my first few days; they decreased after the first week.

I’ve had quite a few grilled chicken and lettuce salads away from home. Most restaurants offer something like this. It’s not easy to eat out. McDonald’s grilled chicken sandwich sans bun and mayo with a garden salad was OK. Culver’s grilled chicken salad with vinaigrette on the side wasn’t bad either. Kebob at an Indian restaurant was OK. If I…[Read more]

I use Wii Fit U. There are exercises even I can do with a bad left knee and a weak right ankle/foot, while others challenge (and often best) my athletic 13-year-old. The exercises are divided into yoga, strength training, aerobics, dance, and balance games.

Thanks for the encouragement, Carol. It’s week six and I was down 7 pounds after ups and downs. The stressful situation has not resolved itself and has, in fact, become worse. I took a break from the plan when I drove out to meet my sister, who was on a business trip. I was off the plan for 24 hours. The scale will tell when check my weight again…[Read more]
